What Happens when we die

I always know when the Long Island Medium, Teresa Capuito is on TV, because I get an uptick in people who want to talk to their dearly departed.  Not long ago, a woman called for an appointment and indicated that she wanted a medium session.

When she came for the appointment, she brought someone with her, since she didn’t know me and I could see that she was unsure of the process.   Once I began the session, immediately her grandmother came through.  I described the appearance of her grandmother and she confirmed that was correct.  I saw her smoking a cigarette and she confirmed that her grandmother smoked.  The information flowed and I relayed many things from her grandmother.   “I’m getting the name Hunter,” I said, “Do you know anyone with that name who has passed over.  “Yes” she replied, “I had an Uncle by that name but I never cared for him.  He was a drunk and abusive.  Why is he coming through?”   I explained that we don’t always know who is going to show up and sometimes the person you want to speak with the most, may be reluctant or incapable of making a connection.   Those who know how and have a need to be in contact will often “push” their way through.  He did have some important things to say to her, mostly about being sorry for his behavior and the need to express that from the afterlife.  I don’t usually get names, so this was unusual.  I can more easily access the person when I have the name they went by or their first name.

We were almost done with the session.  “Is there anything more you’d like to ask?”  “Well” she said, “you haven’t gotten the person I most wanted to speak to.”  That  caught me by surprise, since I had thought it was the grandmother that she wanted to talk too.  Her grandmother must have pushed here way through wanting to talk to her granddaughter.  There was information that the grandmother wanted to give to her and that she needed to hear, so it was helpful to her.

This time I asked for the name of the person she wanted to contact.    It was a recently departed friend who showed up right away.  A feeling of dread came over me and I heard  “kaboom.”  “Oh my”  I said, “she was either killed in some kind of accident or she took her own life.”   “She killed herself with a gun.”  she said tearfully.    The client was distraught because she was blaming herself and felt guilt.  But, her friend was  shouting at  me to tell her “It’s not your fault!”   I told her that her friend wanted me to emphasize that it wasn’t her fault.

Then she said, “I don’t understand, where is she?  I always believed there was a Heaven and a Hell.   So where is she?”

I did my best to explain to her my belief  based on my experiences with reaching those who have passed over and from performing Past Life Regressions.

The following is what I have learned:    When the physical body dies, our soul leaves this Earth Plane.   We are never alone because those whom we loved who have gone on before us, greet us as we transition into the next phase.   Sometimes, when there is a long illness, it is not unusual  for the person to talk about “seeing” those who died before them.  They come to prepare them for what comes next.  This is usually done to help ease their passing, so they will not be afraid when the inevitable happens.  Even our beloved Pets can show up.

Once the soul has made it’s transition, and after the re-union where they feel the love of those they have missed for many years, a spirit guide or Angel is nearby to help with the next phase.   For those who have died from traumas, or suicide, they are taken to a place of “healing” where the soul is allowed to recuperate.  In the case of suicide, a review of the lifetime is provided and the soul must come to terms with the decision to end the life.   This is neither good or bad, as no judgment is rendered except by the soul itself.  In most cases, a life ended abruptly by suicide indicates that the soul failed to achieve it’s goals for growth and many of the same difficulties will be encountered in the next incarnation.   It’s similar to failing a grade and having to repeat it again.  Some lessons may take many lifetimes.  They are always surrounded by a loving light.

So, in effect, there is no Hell, at least not the way it has been presented to us.  For people who have been really heinous or evil in this lifetime, they may be segregated from other souls and their rehabilitation could take a very long time, if ever.   Most soul’s don’t fall into this category.

At some point, there is a life review where the soul reviews the things they accomplished in this incarnation and the area’s in which they failed.  Again, no blame or judgment is given except by the soul itself.  From some of my past life regression work, I can tell you that this part really pains the person when they realize they have made the same mistakes again and again.   Just before or just after the review, they reunite with their soul group or “soul mates.”   These are the soul’s that they reincarnate with over and over again.

They may stay with their group for more learning or go with a guide who assists them with learning.  The choice is the soul’s.  They may take a break and go do something they enjoyed in their last or prior lives or continue on for more learning.   While in the soul form, we are beings of light and we may be drawn to the Universal Light that is healing and uplifting, what we would know as true ecstasy.   This is as close as we will come to feeling like we are in Heaven.

This light can and has been experienced here on Earth, however, it is a rare occurrence. Only after many lifetimes and progressions will we be united with this Universal Energy, what we call God and no further incarnations are needed.

At some point the soul must then decide when and the circumstances of another return to a physical body.   There are very few soul’s who end their incarnation during their current life.   So if you are hoping this is the last one, I can only say it is very unlikely.

What we have been taught about Heaven or Hell is incorrect from my experience and the experience of others who do this work, including Michael Newton who wrote Journey of the Soul and has done hundreds of Past Life Regressions and Between Life Regressions.  Perhaps returning again to live over the mistakes of our past’s could be considered Hell.   The difference is that by getting it right, we don’t have to repeat the lesson again.  Think of the movie “groundhog day” where Bill Murray wakes up every 24 hours to repeat the day over until he finally gets it right.

And, one other thing, the next time the lesson comes around, they get harder.  That’s something to think about.
